Follow Your Nose (click for lyric)

(Steve Linford)
When I’m walking down the street
I try really hard to concentrate on my feet
I clear my mind of foolish things
Cos I know the trouble thoughts of foolish things brings

My main occupation is looking at my toes
If I had a dog I’d look look at one of those
I’d look down my nose at one of those

Yes I know, what I should do and what I shouldn’t
which ain’t the same as what I would do or wouldn’t

Follow your nose
Follow your nose
Follow your nose
Follow your nose

And when I’m ridin’ on me bike
I tell my baser instincts to take a hike
A civilised man wouldn’t be so crude
Wouldn’t think of every girl he sees in the nude

I got a million years of instincts in my head
and some dick in a suit says 'Buy a car instead'
I wish he was dead
Or less well fed

Cos I know, what I should do and what I shouldn’t
which ain’t the same as what I would do or wouldn’t

Follow your nose
Follow your nose
Follow your nose
Follow your nose

And as I lie in wait for sleep
I don’t know what I’m countin’ but it ain’t sheep
It ain’t blessings either though I have my share
I’d give it all up to touch her hair

But don't blame me for loss of control
I’m just a man of flesh and blood and soul
and it takes its toll as I live out my role

Cos I know, what I should do and what I shouldn’t
which ain’t the same as what I would do or wouldn’t

Follow your nose
Follow your nose
Follow your nose
Follow your nose
